My name is Emely, and I am the owner of SoapSocial. I started my business December 2017 after watching an episode of Hack My Life that made soap making look like a breeze. I thought "How frugal! How simple! I can do that!" So I did. I was immediately intrigued by everything soap and what ingredients we use in everyday products. As a busy mother of three, this fueled my creative outlet that was stifled by a busy and stressful lifestyle. I needed something for me, and this was it.
While working as a Project Manager for a truly brilliant company, I continued to make soap while reading and researching and creating some good and not so good batches of soap that I tested on my husband, friends, and family. It was during this time that I realized my little ones were growing up right before my eyes and my oldest was starting kindergarten. Like many parents who try to balance full-time jobs and personal lives, I couldn't give 100% to every segment of my life and something had to give. With that, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom.
Now I'm sketching, planning, crafting, concocting, pouring, mixing, swirling, slicing, and attending PTO meetings! It is my goal to bring like-minded people together who get distracted by creative ideas, who are do-ers, and do it for their well-being. That's why in addition to selling my craft, I facilitate soap making parties where ladies (gents and children) can gather and take a load off, get messy, and share their work. We all need a reason to be crafty and catch up with our circle.
SoapSocial is also committed to giving back — especially in support of cancer research and efforts that enhance the lives of children. If you have a philanthropy effort you are passionate about and would like us to help, send us a note!
From my family to yours, thanks for visiting SoapSocial!
